Monel 400 is an alloy hardened only by cold working. Monel 400 Alloy is known for its toughness and high strength over a broad temperature range, as well as its superb corrosion resistance in alkalies, seawater, hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid. However, Monel 400 Alloy can be magnetic; if there is an application calling for nonmagnetic attributes, other Monel alloys may be more appropriate.
